You just run around and let the flame do the work. Maxed ROF works halfway through epic all by itself to. And is a glass cannon (you kill fast, you die fast).Įarth is good to start because 9 points in ring of fire will clear all (except end bosses) in normal. Ice mastery requires way too much mana regen and recharge, while its nice shotgun, it is just not newbie friendly. Thats a nice school to start from and he can try making retaliation build (monster hit you and die of spikes). He can pick a Golem and some fire ring passive to melt monsters early on by just standing near them. I suggest your friend to choose "Earth only". All its skills require big investments, so you cant just go Nature+Dream, but "Dream only" instead. And thats very tricky thing - to maintain them alive.ĥ) Dream is laggy mastery, if your friend have potatoe pc, he will not like lighting dot FPS drops.Ħ) Dream takes loads of time and patience to upgrade, since its main power is in later passives at 32 mastery points. And to get 3 wolfs instead of 2 you also need +2 to all skills / nature (hard to get).Ĥ) To effectivly use pets you have to constantly use Mastery Shrine to get +4 lvls for their skills. Also pets become less effective with each act, almost useless by the end of act 3. And if there is 2 of you - monsters are stronger, pets are weaker. Only if you wear all of these, there will be noticeable clearing speed. While Nature is able to provide good healing, its often more about dodging enemy attacks, instead of eating them all and hoping for helping hand from healer.ģ) Nature pets are VERY VERY weak without +physical dmg rings, weapon and amulet. Third, you will have very low mana pool and mana early on, so no fun.Ģ) Nature and Earth are good combo, but you will not be able to save your pal if he don't know how to play hack and slash games. Second, you will have long skills cooldowns without +recharge bonuses from items. First of all you have to drink hp and mana potions all the time and its annoying. I'm looking for advice on mage build masteries for both him, to stay alive, and me to help keep him alive.ġ) Casters are a problem. If it's the best (probably will be for a newb because of ternion attack), I'll still try and steer him that direction. Earth/Dream is what I really want to play, but I like pretty much every mage mastery, and don't mind going Nature if it'll help him.Īnother note, I don't think he'll want to play Spirit because he doesn't like. Nature/Earth for tanky pet and aura/healing to help keep him alive. Is something/Defense a good idea so he will be more tanky, or is that bad because defense favors going melee? I am considering playing either Nature/Earth or Earth/Dream. I want him to have fun playing, but I hear casters are not so good in this game, and he'll probably get frustrated. We both want to play a mage, but he is so new, he doesn't know what to choose for masteries. Anyway, I am not new to games like this, but he is. A friend and I are about to start playing this game, maybe on Switch, we haven't decided yet.
